Dear Daddy,
As you know Mother's Day and your anniversary are approaching and I wanted to let you know of a few things that I think mommy would really like. She always tells me about things she likes when we are out shopping on the weekends and out for walks and I know they would all make her very happy. Besides, she has been an amazing mommy for the past year and really deserves something special. Dontcha think?!
1 - A Nikon D40 camera. She's been talking about this thing since I was in her belly. She really acts like the paparazzi so this would be a perfect gift!
2 - Marc by Marc Jacobs Totally Turnlock Clutch. Mommy and I saw this at South Moon Under and she loved it!
3 - A Links of London bracelet. Mommy told me that she saw this when she used to travel to the UK and always wanted one. They now carry them at Nordstrom online too. Oh and you can buy little charms that go on the bracelet to make it really special!
4 - If all the others are too expensive, I also know she really really wants a Strollometer for our stroller since we exercise together. For 40 bucks at Target.com, it's a steal!
I know I don't have enough in my piggy bank just yet but I thought maybe we can chip in. Let me know what you think!
Love,
Carson
my place to ramble about whatever is on my mind with lots of oohing and ahhing over my little loves (and husband of course too)

Birthday Party Pics.
So I've been a bad blogger and realized that Carson's party was almost 3 weeks ago and I haven't posted the pics! We had so much fun and he was such a trooper despite not napping well in the morning.
So we did a polka dot theme and here is a pic of the cake. It matched my invites and decor perfectly....
A pic of the family...we couldn't get one of Carson looking at the camera.
Cake time! We decided to just give him a cupcake rather than a smash cake. He wanted nothing to do with it. How is this my child? Everyone knows how much I love sweets!!!

And he's walking!
What a big day for Carson today. He turned the big 1 and became an official walker! He's been taking steps for 3 weeks now and last week he got a black eye from losing his balance and falling into his bookcase so I think he got a bit scared to try again. Well I picked him up from daycare and he walked all afternoon. He was showing off his skills outside for all the neighbors too!!!
Yay Carson!!!!
Yay Carson!!!!
Happy 1st Birthday Carson!!!!
I cannot believe it's been a whole year since Carson came into the world and changed our lives forever. It has been truly amazing and I cannot even imagine life without him now. I knew being a parent was going to be life-changing but I never imagined it to touch me the way that it has. I have no words to describe how he makes me feel and I know Dan feels the same way!
Carson came into the world as a sweet little angel and has grown into an adorable, curious, funny, smart, little man. We look forward to toddler-hood and all the challenges and fun times that are ahead.

It all began one year ago tonight.
I got my first contractions around dinner time on April 9th and told Dan that this was it, I knew I was in labor. I was 8 days late and visited the doctor that day. We scheduled an induction for Friday the 13th and everyone said that once the induction was scheduled, I would go into labor on my own. Boy were they right!!! I never knew I would be so happy to be in pain. I really wanted to experience labor but after having contractions at home allllllllllllll night, I wanted it to be over. Who knew he wouldn't arrive until almost 24 hours from my first contraction!
I knew he wouldn't be in my belly forever but after being so late, I never even packed a bag. I mean, I did have the bag out and ready to be packed but never really put much thought into what I needed. Crazy for me since I am a huge planner!
Anyway, I just wanted to blog about it tonight since it really brought back memories tonight as I sit here and reminisce about Carson's birth.
I will post more tomorrow with his one year photo and something special I made for his birthday!

First day of school!
Many of you that read my blog know the drama I went through a few weeks ago with our nanny but for those of you I have not updated, we had to let Carson's nanny go since she was being dishonest. It was very emotional for me especially since we treated her like family and she has been taking care of Carson since he was 3 months old. We were very disappointed and know this is best for our family.
After much thought, we decided it was best to start him in daycare. Luckily, I had been on a waiting list since I was pregnant so we were able to get in there in such short notice. It's very close to home and comes highly recommended too. We are starting him part time (3 days per week) and eventually adding on a fourth day this summer.
So today was his first day there alone. I've been working at home and transitioning him slowly but he cried and whined everytime we go there so today was tough. I cried when I left and all the way to work. I cried thinking about his sweet little face and that I don't want him to feel like I am not coming back. Even though I knew in my heart he was safe and fine, it still hurt so badly. We called and checked on him a few times and he was doing great. We picked him up today and saw him interacting and playing with the other kids and I felt a huge relief.
His teachers all said he did GREAT and even napped on the cot for 2 1/2 hours! My little man made me so proud today.
Wish us luck that he continues on this path and that he does look forward to "school." I know it will take time to adjust but he is a very strong willed and independent little man so I have no doubt he will soon be running circles in that place.
Go Carson!!!!

Carson's new ride.
We got this Step 2 push buggy (bugaboo according to Dan) for Carson for his bday but of course had to give it to him early! He LOVES it. He likes to just hang out in it and today didn't want to get out of it. It was so nice out for the first of April, a balmy 70 so we took him out on the promenade around our house and fed the ducks!
Check him out!
